Hyperextended Cosmological Perturbation Theory: Predicting Non-linear Clustering Amplitudes

چکیده
We consider the long-standing problem of predicting the hierarchical clustering amplitudes Sp in the strongly non-linear regime of gravitational evolution. N-body results for the nonlinear evolution of the bispectrum (the Fourier transform of the three-point density correlation function) suggest a physically motivated ansatz that yields the strongly non-linear behavior of the skewness, S3, starting from leading-order perturbation theory. When generalized to higherorder (p > 3) polyspectra or correlation functions, this ansatz leads to a good description of non-linear amplitudes in the strongly non-linear regime for both scale-free and cold dark matter models. Furthermore, these results allow us to provide a general fitting formula for the nonlinear evolution of the bispectrum that interpolates between the weakly and strongly non-linear regimes, analogous to previous expressions for the power spectrum. 2-Point Moments in Cosmological Large Scale Structure I. Theory and Comparison with Simulations
We present new perturbation theory (PT) predictions in the Spherical Collapse (SC) model for the 2-point moments of the large-scale distribution of dark matter density in the universe. We assume that these fluctuations grow under gravity from small Gaussian initial conditions. These predictions are compared with numerical simulations and with previous PT results to assess their domain of validi...
متن کاملcosmological density fluctuations and gravity waves: a covariant approach to gauge-invariant non-linear perturbation theory
We present a new approach to gauge-invariant cosmological perturbations at second order, which is also covariant. We examine two cases in particular for a dust Friedman-Lemâıtre-RobertsonWalker model of any curvature: we investigate gravity waves generated from clustering matter, that is, induced tensor modes from scalar modes; and we discuss the generation of density fluctuations induced by gr...
متن کاملScale Transformations, Tree-level Perturbation Theory, and the Cosmological Matter Bispectrum
Scale transformations have played an extremely successful role in studies of cosmological large-scale structure by relating the non-linear spectrum of cosmological density fluctuations to the linear primordial power at longer wavelengths. Here we generalize this approach to investigate the usefulness of scale transformations for nonlinear higher-order statistics, specifically the bispectrum. We...

Measurements of the cosmological density parameter (Ω) using techniques that exploit the gravity-induced motions of galaxies yield, in linear perturbation theory, the degenerate parameter combination β = Ω0.6/b, where the linear bias parameter b is the ratio of the fluctuation amplitudes of the galaxy and mass distributions. However, the relation between the mass and the galaxy density fields d...
متن کاملRapid Calculation of Theoretical Cmb Angular Power Spectra
We have developed a fast method for predicting the angular power spectrum, Cl, of the cosmic microwave background given cosmological parameters and a primordial power spectrum of perturbations. After pre–computing the radiation temperature and gravitational potential transfer functions over a small sub–space of the total model parameter space, the rest of the model space (six or more cosmologic...
